While HBO Max has not revealed the release date of "Batgirl," actress Leslie Grace - who played the lead role in the movie - opened up about the sequel.

In an interview with Variety published Thursday, the 27-year-old actress was asked about when the filming of the sequel would begin, to which she responded, "We got to see this first one first. But there’s definitely some talks about what it could be."

"I’ve seen some of what we’ve shot, obviously in the playback and stuff like that, and it’s insane," she added. "We’ve already been talking about where do we take this from here because there’s so much that happens in this film."

Grace went on to explain that the movie is more than just action, it is also about love and a daughter's relationship with her father, among other things.

"There are a lot of different themes in the plot that we touch on. It’s not just the action," she explained. "There’s a love story. There’s this father-daughter relationship. There’s looking at the world through a lens that isn’t just black and white and seeing the color and the spectrum between things."

When asked if she had reached out to the other female stars who played superheroes like Gal Gadot or Alicia Silverstone, Grace said, "I haven’t. I probably should have. It’s like almost a little overwhelming and hard for your brain to catch up to the magnitude of what it is that you’re doing that it almost feels like it’s happening in a vacuum."

Grace opened up about having "some imposter syndrome" while thinking about playing Batgirl's character and if she really does belong in the "club" of superhero stars.

"But now that you’re mentioning it, I’m going to slip in a few DMs and ask 'Hey, what was your experience?'" she noted. "I did reach out to Sasha Calle, who is Supergirl in 'The Flash.' I’m hoping that we get to meet soon because we’re part of the new gen."

"Batgirl" is slated to release on HBO Max. The crime-action flick is helmed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and it will also star Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton, J.K. Simmons and Ivory Aquino.
