“True Blood” alum Lynn Collins and “Nashville” star Linds Edwards have joined the cast of “Lethal Weapon.”

According to TVLine, Collins will recur as Molly while Edwards will appear as Jake in Season 2 of the Fox buddy cop series. Molly will be introduced in episode 6 as the lady friend of Jake, who happens to be Riggs’ (Clayne Crawford) best friend from childhood.

Showrunner Matt Miller told the news outlet that Molly will be around for a “bunch of episodes” and may eventually become a love interest for Riggs. “It doesn’t start out that way,” Miller said when asked if Molly will be romantically paired with the grieving cop. “[But] it may evolve.”

Besides her recurring role as Dawn Green in Season 1 of HBO’s “True Blood,” Collins’ other previous TV credits include USA Network’s “Covert Affairs” and UPN’s “Haunted.” The actress currently stars as Natalie on Discovery Channel’s “Manhunt: Unabomber.”

Edwards, meanwhile, is best known for his role as Rayna Jaymes’ (Connie Britton) stalker, Carl Hockney, on the ABC-turned-CMT series “Nashville.” Edwards, who also recurred on NBC’s “Game of Silence” and PlayStation Network’s “Powers,” is also a good friend of Crawford in real life. The two even worked together on SundanceTV’s “Rectify.”

Collins and Edwards are the latest addition to the growing list of newcomers in Season 2 of “Lethal Weapon.” The two join previously announced series newcomers Andrew Creer, Michael Hurd, Rex Linn, Chase Mangum and Adrian Pasdar.

Creer will recur of Zach Bowman, an attractive and enthusiastic detective on LAPD’s robbery-homicide division who partners with detective Sonya Bailey (Michelle Mitchenor). Hurd will play LAPD chief Gina Santos, Captain Brooks Avery’s (Kevin Rahm) new boss, who happens to have an interesting past with Murtaugh (Damon Wayans).

Linn will play Riggs’ father. He will appear in multiple episodes in Texas-set flashback scenes alongside Mangum who will be portraying a teenage version of Riggs. Pasdar, meanwhile, will guest star as a “con artist grifter,” who will rob the passengers of a private jet and wind up jumping out in a parachute in episode 4.

“Lethal Weapon” Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
