LG is expected to announced another V series Android smartphone soon, but it looks like the upcoming handset has already made its full appearance online. Leaked renders for the LG V40 ThinQ have surfaced online and they appear to show the device sporting a total of five cameras.

The renders were first shared online by MySmartPrice. The publication claims that these are official press renders for the upcoming handset, which means that these could be the real deal. Based on the renders, the device will likely come with all of the trending smartphone features, including a display notch.

The press renders for the LG V40 ThinQ show the device in its black color option. The handset will allegedly arrive with a glass back that has a mirror finish. The handset looks premium and it has curved edges for a bezel-less look. The V40 ThinQ is expected to have a P-OLED display, but there’s no information yet on its exact size or resolution. Its predecessor, the LG V35 ThinQ, arrived with a 6-inch OLED display with a quad HD+ resolution.

On the back, the handset will have triple cameras which are aligned horizontally. Just below the cameras is the circular fingerprint sensor. Triple-camera setups are becoming more popular thanks to the Huawei P20 Pro and it makes sense that LG would try to join the bandwagon to get the attention of consumers.

In addition to the triple cameras on its back, the LG V40 ThinQ will also have dual front-facing cameras. The lenses for the cameras will be housed inside the notch at the top of the display. It’s being speculated that the secondary camera may be using an infrared sensor so that the handset will support 3D facial recognition technology. Unfortunately, no information was given on the what type of sensors the cameras will have. The last time LG released a smartphone with dual front-facing cameras was with the LG V10 from 2015.

As for specs, the LG V40 ThinQ is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The upcoming LG smartphone is also said to have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom edge. On the right side of the device will be the power button and the volume keys, while the left side will have a dedicated physical button. It’s possible that the dedicated key will be for Google Assistant. On the software side of things, the V40 ThinQ is said to run Android 9.0 Pie straight out of the box.

The LG V40 ThinQ might be announced on Nov. 16, since it’s the same date that’s shown in the leaked press renders. However, Android Authority believes that LG might unveil the phone in September and release the handset sometime in October.
