Liam Payne's Girlfriend Aliana Mawla Denies 'Other Woman' Rumors After Maya Henry Split

Aliana Mawla set the record straight after various rumors involved her in Liam Payne's split from ex-fiancée Maya Henry.

Payne and Henry's split was confirmed last week after his photos with Mawla circulated online. Many immediately speculated that they had an affair while the former One Direction singer was still with Henry. Some accused Payne's new girlfriend of being his "other woman," but she shut down such claims, Page Six reported.

"Aliana is very taken back by the accusations that have been made regarding a relationship with Liam while he was still engaged or involved with [his] ex-fiancée," Mawla's rep told E! News in a statement Sunday. "Under no circumstances would Aliana have involved herself in a public relationship as such if there was any truth to the comments that have been made."

Her rep continued, "She is very protective of her personal life and has nothing more to say at the moment other than she is very happy and does not wish to discuss this situation moving forward."

Henry and Payne's split was confirmed after the former seemingly reacted to Payne and Mawla's PDA-packed photos. The snaps included a close-up selfie with the singer embracing Mawla from behind and a black-and-white picture of their hands interlocked. Mawla posted both pictures on her Instagram Story on May 22. The photos were shared via a fan account on Instagram where Henry reacted.

"I love all of the fans so much, but please stop sending me these pictures of my fiancé wrapped around another woman," Henry commented. "This is not me, and it's hard enough knowing this has happened without seeing it. Enough now."

Payne's rep confirmed to People that he and Henry had already called off their engagement and were no longer together. The outlet added that the split happened a month ago.

Payne and Henry's recent split was the second time they had called it quits. They first broke up in June 2021, when the singer said he was single while appearing on "The Diary of a CEO" podcast. They reunited a month later before breaking up again less than a year after they had reconciled.

Payne shares 5-year-old son Bear Grey with British pop superstar and ex-girlfriend Cheryl. They first met on the set of "X Factor U.K." where she was a judge, and he was a contestant. They went public with their romance in 2015 and split three years later, Cosmopolitan reported.
