Dina Lohan, the mother of Lindsay Lohan, was sentenced Friday to 18 days in jail and five years probation for driving while intoxicated in Long Island, New York, last year.

Lohan, 59, pleaded guilty in September to felony DWI and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with a Jan. 11, 2020, crash where she rear-ended another car near Merrick Mall in Nassau County, New York, NBC News reported. She was driving with a suspended license at the time of the accident.

In addition to sentencing her to jail time, a judge revoked Lohan's license for 18 months. She also faces various surcharges and must participate in a stop DWI program while in jail as well as a probation DWI program once she's released.

Lohan was also ordered to install an ignition interlock device on her car once she starts her probation.

It wasn't immediately clear when she was expected to begin her sentence.

According to court documents, the 59-year-old did not stop after hitting the other vehicle, causing the other driver to call the police and follow her to her home, authorities said.

The responding officer found Lohan in the driver's seat of her car with "glassy and bloodshot" eyes. She was slurring her speech and smelled of alcohol, according to the documents.

When Lohan got out of her vehicle, she was unsteady on her feet and ended up falling to the ground on her face, the documents said.

Following her arrest in January last year, Lohan initially faced four other charges in addition to the two she pleaded guilty to in September. These included: operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninspected vehicle, driving without a license and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle in the third degree, CNN reported.

This wasn't her first time getting involved in a DWI case. In 2013, Lohan was arrested for speeding and driving under the influence in Nassau County, the New York Daily News reported.

She accepted a plea deal, which included admitting guilt, and was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, the revocation of her driver's license for one year and a $3,000 fine.

Lohan’s sentencing comes days after her daughter Lindsay announced on Instagram her engagement to boyfriend Bader Shammas.

The “Mean Girls” star made the announcement via a Nov. 28 post, captioning photos of her and Shammas: "My love. My life. My family. My future."

The actress' mother also celebrated the engagement by sharing a photo on her Instagram Story with the message: "My heart is full #engaged #newbeginnings."

Lindsay and Shammas have been keeping their relationship private in the three years they've been dating. Shammas, the son of a Lebanese mom and Kuwaiti dad, resides in Dubai where the actress has lived for the past few years, E! News reported.
