  • Liverpool puts Real Madrid star Rodrygo on radar
  • Reds manager Jurgen Klopp identifies Rodrygo as Mohamed Salah's replacement
  • Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is not keen on letting go of the youngster

Liverpool is not ruling out making a transfer move for Jurgen Klopp’s ideal “long-term replacement” for Mohamed Salah.

After bagging 100 goals and helping Liverpool win a couple of titles, Salah has become one of the best players in the world. However, his future with the Reds has always been a question in recent times and this season is no different.

The 28-year-old is once again linked to a move away from Anfield and Klopp has already identified Real Madrid star Rodrygo as a suitable alternative, Spanish outlet Don Balon reported.

The Reds boss has long been a fan of Rodrygo’s “technique, personality and ability.” But securing a deal for the Brazilian will not come cheap as Real Madrid reportedly demands around €70 million ($83 million) for his release.

Despite the 19-year-old’s huge price tag, Liverpool is still keen on making a “massive offer” for his services.

As early as now, it is said that Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is not in favor of Rodrygo’s transfer as the youngster has become “one of the vital pieces” in his rotation.

The French manager is also looking forward to exploring Rodrygo’s potential and has already laid out plans for him in the future, the report added.

As for Rodrygo, it appears that he has been having a great working relationship with the La Liga champions. The Real Madrid youngster earlier revealed that the whole club has been very supportive and he is “very happy” about it.

“I'm a kid who listens a lot to what older people tell me,” Rodrygo told AS last month. “This year, I think I have matured quite a lot in many aspects of my life. A lot of people have been helping me and that makes me very happy.”

More importantly, Rodrygo acknowledges the significant role Zidane has been playing in his budding career.

According to former Santos forward, the legendary coach has helped him improve his game which could be essential for him in the future.

“I think that training with him at Real Madrid with him has helped me with my game, especially my wing play,” he said of Zidane. “When I realized that I would have more opportunities if I learned to play on both wings, that was an important lesson for me."

“With Madrid, I started to play more down the right [wing],” Rodrygo continued. “It's been a process of adaptation, but it has increased my options - not just of playing for my club but also with the national team. It will benefit me in the long run.”
