KEY POINTS

  • Berserkers have slow but hard-hitting attacks
  • The class feels much faster to play at the later stages
  • Berserkers suffer from long cooldowns early in the game

The Berserker, which falls under the Warrior class in “Lost Ark,” can cleave through hordes of enemies with their enormous greatswords and pulverize even the biggest of boss monsters under their might. Although they may seem simple to use, this class has a fair bit of nuances that players would want to master.

Like the rest of “Lost Ark’s” playable classes, the Berserker plays and feels completely different from everyone else. With this comes their own set of strengths and weaknesses that players need to master if they want to be as effective as possible when grinding through the game.

Here’s a quick overview of what players can expect from Berserkers:

  • Strengths
    • High burst damage
    • Large AoE attacks
    • Strong stagger/crowd-control effects
  • Weaknesses
    • Long ability cooldown timers
    • Relatively low sustained damage output
    • Slow attacks

Berserkers are great for literally smashing enemies with their giant blades and cleaving through large groups with big, heavy moves. However, the lengthy cooldown times of their best abilities mean that there’s going to be plenty of downtime between bursts, which might cause some problems in both PvE and PvP.

Leveling up a Berserker can feel excruciatingly slow because of the cooldown times. With that in mind, take and improve the following skills first to make the very early game stages a little easier:

  • Finish Strike
  • Double Slash
  • Crime Hazard
  • Whirlwind

These four abilities are great for the very early parts of the game, especially a fully-upgraded Double Slash since it has such a low cooldown with decent damage attached. However, when approaching the endgame, transition to using these skills instead:

  • Finish Strike
  • Hell Blade
  • Red Dust
  • Mountain Crush
  • Crime Hazard
  • Tempest Slash/Whirlwind

As for the Awakening Skills, take Berserker’s Fury if more DPS is favored or required. Otherwise, go with Chain of Vengeance for the AoE CC.

Players should have more than enough single-target and AoE damage with this skill setup and enough crowd-control and stagger effects. Bear in mind that optimal skill setups will change depending on the activity players are joining. There will always be some builds that are better than others in certain scenarios.
