All eyes were on Lupita Nyong’o when she made her entry on the red carpet of the 68th Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony held at the Grand Theatre Lumiere, Palais des Festivals, on Wednesday. The “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress twirled as she entered wearing a striking green Gucci gown, according to E! Online. The custom-made gown featured her trademark style of pleats with a plunging neckline.

The dress was designed especially for Lupita. It is chiffon plissé with embellished floral detailing in embroidered crystals on the shoulders. It had hand-painted pink and blush flowers. The dress featured three-fourth sleeves and was cinched at the waist with a matching satin belt.

The gown’s skirt section was pleated and made up of diaphanous fabric, which flew in the air as the Oscar winner made her way inside the venue. The 32-year-old actress completed her look with green satin open-toe platform heels and a blush pink satin clutch with an antique gold cat head closure. Lupita added a glamorous touch to her ensemble with a hint of bright purple lipstick.

The “12 Years A Slave” cast member styled her hair in an up-do, which was kept in place with a couple of diamond-encrusted Alice bands. She also accessorized with diamond drop earrings and a couple of statement diamond rings from Chopard. The earrings were pink quartz, rubellites and diamond earrings.

Her makeup was done by Nick Barose using Lancome products. The actress took to Instagram and shared three photos of her Cannes style. She wrote on the photo-sharing app that her hair was inspired by “Uganda’s women” and styled by Vernon François. The hairstylist shared a selfie on Instagram with Lupita while getting her ready for the big night.

“It's #GrasshopperGreen for @festivaldecannes opening night. Thank you @Chopard @Gucci and Uganda's women for the hair inspiration. #NseneneSeason#cannes2015,” Lupita captioned a photo from the red carpet on Twitter.

Along with Lupita, Naomi Watts and Julianne Moore opted for dramatic plunging numbers, while Sienna Miller and Natalie Portman wore primary colors for the occasion. Lupita was seen arriving at Nice airport on Tuesday. She was dressed in a black leather blazer with a scarf wrapped around her head. She paired the outfit with black skintight jeans, white T-shirt and black ankle-length boots and carried a Ricky bag.
