Machine Gun Kelly had an opportunity to meet late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins before his death. The musician died last week in a hotel room in Bogata after complaining about chest pain.

The 31-year-old rapper noted that the Foo Fighters and his own team were supposed to perform together at Asuncionico 2022 Music Festival in Paraguay but the concert was canceled due to flooding.

However, the rapper performed impromptu outside his hotel. Following the performance, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl approached Kelly and his crew members and invited them to hang out with the rock band team.

"[Taylor] went up to every single one of us and gave us each our moment," the rapper recalled on "The Howard Stern Show" on Wednesday. "Like every single one of us, man, like down to my assistant … And we were all tripping out!"

"He's such a beautiful soul," he added. "He gave his heart."

Kelly went on to share a sweet message for Hawkins' children.

"The last thing that he had said to [my drummer was] 'I'm just so bummed I didn't get to see you guys play,'" Kelly remembered. "I really want to thank him and let his kids know that he made us feel … so confident in ourselves and loved, and your father [was] a great, great man and we were all lucky to know him."

Hawkins died on March 25. According to a release from the Attorney General's Office in Bogota, the drummer had 10 substances in his system when he died. He was married to Alison and the couple shared two kids: Oliver Shane, 16, and Annabelle, 13.

Kelly also opened up about his personal life during the interview and revealed one of his "big regrets."

"I actually have a big regret," Kelly said before sharing the story of him going on a double date with Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. "The short version is, we rented out a theater, me, Meg and Kim and Pete went to see this movie and I was vouching for this movie so hard."

"I was like 'It's gonna be the best movie you've ever seen,'" he added. "I kept, like, leaning over, like even as the previews were starting, and I was like, 'Just dude, I can't wait, I can't wait for you guys to watch.' Dude, we got ten minutes into the movie – you ever have that moment where you're like, 'We shouldn't be here?'"
