Mad Men Season 7 spoilers
What will happen in episode 6 of "Mad Men"? Michael Yarish/AMC

Well, that was, uh, interesting. Last night, “Mad Men” aired its strangest episode to date when Matthew Weiner decided to have Michael Ginsberg cut off his nipple in the name of love. Nope, this isn’t an analogy or literary reference… the copywriter for Sterling Cooper Draper actually sliced off his nipple and handed it to poor Peggy in a jewelry box. Obviously Ginsberg never heard the song “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

And while we spent a majority of the night scratching our heads over the jaw-dropping scene, we were even more confused over how Weiner could possibly follow up such a jam-packed episode of drama. Thankfully for fans, a synopsis for episode 6, “The Strategy,” has been leaked so we can prepare ourselves a bit before it airs on Sunday, May 18, at 9 p.m. EDT.

“Peggy collects research for a pitch; Pete receives an invitation to an exclusive club; Joan is eager to spend time with her friend,” the summary teased ambiguous clues.

And as always, the promo for “The Strategy” wasn’t much help either. In the 30-second trailer for the upcoming episode of “Mad Men,” fans can expect Peggy to abruptly wake up in the middle of the night. Perhaps she had a nightmare about Ginsberg’s nipple -- we know we did.

Unlike Peggy, Joan will be bursting with happiness, light and a fierce purple dress when she struts her stuff into SC&P. Hmm, we wonder what “friend” Peggy will be reuniting with. Whoever it is, that person sure has her beaming.

We know one thing for sure: “Mad Men” will be welcoming back Pete Campbell in episode 6. Or at least that’s what we saw in the promo when Peggy greeted him into her office.

“It is completely your decision,” he later says to her in a clip. What do you think Pete is offering her? Is he asking to help with her pitch? Or does this have something to do with his “exclusive club”?

“Whose idea was this?” Don asks Peggy at the end of the trailer, which we assume is correlated with the Pete situation.

What are your predictions for “The Strategy”? Chime in with your theories in the comments section below and don’t forget to tune into “Mad Men” on Sunday night to catch episode 6. With only two episode left this year, you definitely won’t want to miss what Weiner has in store for fans.
