After Elton John claimed Madonna had no chance winning the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, husband David Furnish has joined in the war of words .

Furnish was clearly furious the Hollywood Foreign Press picked the singer's composition Masterpiece from her upcoming film W.E., over Elton John's Hello, Hello from the animated film, Gnomeo and Juliet.

Madonna. Best song???? F--k off!!! said the 49-year-old Canadian British filmmaker on Facebook, according to the Daily Mail.

Red Carpet Feud

The feud began on the red carpet Sunday night when Sir Elton told Carson Daly that Madonna had no f---ing chance of winning the honor. When asked if those were fighting words, the Rocket Man responded, No, those are accurate words.

Madonna, 53, had a quick response. Shortly after Elton made the comment, she told Carson, Was he wearing a dress? Oh damn him ... Okay, well may the best man win. (Scroll below for video.)

When the Material Girl's name was read on stage later that night, camera caught Elton looking quite bitter.

But it was Furnish who had the harshest words for the award-winning singer.

Madonna winning Best Original Song truly show how these awards have nothing to do with merit, Furnish wrote on his Facebook page after the awards show. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissims. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is [sic].

How is Lady Gaga involved?

Furnish was likely referring to the time Madonna implied Lady Gaga had plagiarized one of her songs. According to excerpts leaked from a Newsweek interview, the singer compared Gaga's 2011 hit Born this Way to her original 1989 song Express Yourself in some very sarcastic comments.

I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song [Express Yourself] she said of Gaga, who has often been compared to Madonna and labeled as her successor. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was ... interesting.

Lady Gaga, 25, has denied being a Madonna copycat. In April, the pop star told NME that the question in itself was completely ridiculous.

If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years, she said, according to Spin. Just because I'm the first f---ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm f---ing smart. Sorry.

Gaga and Madonna claim they are fans of each other - they even made fun of the constant comparisons in a Saturday Night Live sketch in 2010.

Elton John and Lady Gaga are known to be good friends. The eccentric singer worked on a duet version of Hello, Hello with Elton on Gnomeo & Juliet and in April she confirmed she was going to be the Godmother to Elton John's son, MTV News reported.

He's Known to Get Mad at Me

After the awards show, Madonna told ABC News she doesn't feel bad about taking the Golden Globe home instead of Elton John, despite his public tirade against her.

I hope he speaks to me, the singer said back stage Sunday night after the Hollywood Foreign Press awards show. He's known to get mad at me, [but] he'll win another award. I don't feel bad.
