Maksim Chmerkovskiy Dating Peta Murgatroyd Again? Former 'DWTS' Couple Spotted Together After 2012 Breakup

Did the ballroom Gods just answer our prayers? Former “Dancing with the Stars” couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd were spotted cozying up to one another in New York as the duo walked the chilly streets of the city on Thursday, Jan. 20. This has left shippers of the ex-lovers wondering if the booty-shaking twosome might be taking another spin at their relationship.

“They’ve been spending time together,” a source told Us Weekly of the two possibly rekindling their romance. “I wouldn’t say they’re back together. But they’re definitely spending time together.”

The rump-shaking dancers first got together in 2012, a year after Peta joined the hit ABC dance competition. A source dished to People Magazine that the leggy blond had been crushing on Maks “for a long time.”

"They are really great together. And he is very happy. It's early but I think this will last," another insider predicted. "They're a good match, a good couple.”

However, after 10 months of dating the couple called it quits – just two weeks before Valentine’s Day. Us Weekly reported that while Peta wasn’t interested in ending the relationship, the Ukrainian hottie had already made up his mind to be single after it was revealed he allegedly wasn’t “feeling her anymore.”

Due to the “heated” break up, a source divulged to Us Weekly that Peta has been quite hesitant on committing to Maks once again. "Peta was wary at first since they fought so much and ended on such a bad note the last time," the insider stated. "But he has been working hard to really be a good guy to her and show her that he's changed."

So what sparked Maks’ interest in Peta once again? Well, according to an interview with Social Life Magazine, the “DWTS” Season 18 winner, who has also been romantically linked to Karina Smirnoff, Kate Upton and Erin Andrews, dished that he’s finally ready to leave his bachelor lifestyle behind him and settle down.

Maks explained that the itch to start a family derived from the many hours he spent bonding with students at his father’s studio Dance With Me. “I raised so many children at the studio that I am ready to create one of my own,” he revealed. “I am really ready to have a family now. I need an outlet. I have so much I want to give, and I need someone to give it to.”
