Man Feeds Father's Flesh To Dog After Killing Him Over Land Dispute

A man killed his father over a land dispute and fed his flesh to a dog. The shocking incident took place in the western Indian state of Maharashtra on Wednesday.

The accused, identified as Namdev Dattu Uravte, was involved in a dispute with his father over a farmland. For several days, he urged his father to divide the land and give his share. The father was, however, against it and told him he would not divide the land till he is alive.

Uravte had dinner with his parents Wednesday night after which the victim and his wife went to their room. Once the victim went to sleep, the accused sneaked into the room and hit his father several times with a stick. The man succumbed to injuries on the spot. Uravte then took the victim’s body and fed his flesh to a dog.

The villagers learned about the incident the following morning and alerted police who reached the spot and took the accused into custody.

In a similar incident, a Russian woman was sentenced to 14 years in prison earlier this month for killing her husband and feeding his flesh to their pet dog. Svetlana Batukova killed her husband with a kitchen knife, stripped out a piece of flesh from his arms and fed it to their American Staffordshire bull terrier. A few hours later, she informed the police, who arrived at her home and took her into custody. Officers said the woman was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when they arrived at her residence. Police said the couple argued regularly and were in a rocky relationship.
