A man from Phoenix was arrested Wednesday after he sexually assaulted his roommate’s 14-year-old sister.

The incident came to light Tuesday after the victim walked into Maricopa Medical Center and told the doctors she was sexually assaulted. Phoenix police arrived at the hospital after the staff alerted them.

On questioning, the unnamed victim said she was staying at her sister’s home. She was all alone on the night of May 13 when her sister’s roommate, 24-year-old Jacob Nathaniel Betos, returned home and entered the bedroom where she was sleeping. He then sat beside the bed and started smoking marijuana. A while later, he laid down next to her and began sexually assaulting her, ABC 15 reported.

The girl told the officers "she was in shock and could not move or talk." The following morning, she called a friend to come over and take her to the hospital.

The officers then traced Betos and took him into custody Wednesday. During interrogation, Betos admitted to sexually assaulting the girl while watching pornography. He was charged with sexual assault, sexual conduct with a minor, and child molestation. He was held in jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

The incident comes a few days after a man from Michigan was charged after he touched his female roommate inappropriately. Police responded to the home after receiving a call from a woman stating that her mother was sexually assaulted. When the officers arrived, Andrew Hansen opened the door and when they told him they wanted to speak to the victim, he asked them to wait. When the dispatchers called the woman and asked her if she was alright, she told them he was not letting her come out. The officers entered the home and found the accused and the victim in a room. The victim told the officers Hansen entered the room and started massaging her during which he touched her inappropriately.
