Kate and Luke did not have a happy anniversary on "Married at First Sight" Season 8. Lifetime

“Married at First Sight” Season 8 couples have hit the one-month mark, but not everyone is celebrating. One husband left his wife to spend their anniversary with his buddies in episode 10 of the Lifetime reality show.

Kate and Luke

The night before the one-month anniversary, Dr. Pepper Schwartz has a dinner with all the couples together. She talks about marriage and what they wanted. Then, she asks them to rate themselves as spouses. Kate rates herself the lowest out of the group with only 6.5 while Luke gives himself a 7.5.

Luke is surprised. Kate, meanwhile, thinks Luke went a little high with his own rating. She gave herself the low rating because she keeps trying but doesn’t feel like she is getting results.

After dinner, they talk about their marriage at home. “It kind of doesn’t feel like a marriage right now because there’s no romantic part of our relationship,” she tells the cameras.

She gives Luke what feels like an easy out. She says that it’s fine if he only sees her as a friend, but she needs him to be upfront with her.

Luke gets uncomfortable and tells her, “Don’t do that.” He says that she knows what the problem is, and she tells him that he can say anything. He points out her drinking again. She notes that he got drunk, threw up and didn’t come home recently. Still, Luke feels like Kate drinks because of some insecurity about their relationship.

The next day is their anniversary, but Luke woke up at 8 a.m. to go see his friends. Kate is alone at home and admits that she thought they might do something nice today. She breaks down in tears, completely sobbing as she admits her disappointment.

Luke tells the cameras that Kate went to bed unhappy, and he feels like her bad attitude is not helpful for their marriage. He returns that night with some takeout and they eat dinner. Afterward, he goes to watch TV on the couch. It does not seem like they even mention their anniversary.

“It just feels like I’m in this marriage alone right now. I need to see some sort of glimmer of hope from my husband in order to make this work,” Kate tells the cameras.

AJ and Stephanie

At Dr. Pepper’s dinner, these two give nines as a rating for themselves. They know that they need to improve (especially AJ and his temper), but they’ve been doing pretty well.

For their one-month anniversary, AJ and Stephanie ride go-karts. The competitive couple loves it, and they seem very happy together. Then, they head to a wine tasting. AJ reveals that they haven’t said “I love you” yet, but he can see himself falling in love with her.

Jasmine and Will

They rate themselves a 7 at dinner. Will says they’ve grown much more comfortable with each other, and they compromise to spend time together. They joke and have fun more now.

For their anniversary celebration, they go back to the winery where they got married and relive some of the day they met. Will asks Jasmine if she’d marry him again knowing what she knows now, and she says she would. He agrees, and it seems like these two are in a good place as they reflect on their romance. Jasmine even thinks they might consummate their marriage tonight.

Things take a turn when Jasmine asks Will to rate her as a wife. He gives her a 6.8, which Jasmine feels is low. She feels like Will ruined the romance. Will says he didn’t want to lie to her, but Jasmine feels disappointed. She tells the cameras that they can forget about sex tonight.

Kristine and Keith

Kristine rates herself an 8.9 while Keith gives himself an 8. They know they’re putting the work in, even though everything isn’t perfect.

On their anniversary, Keith takes a cooking class to help show that he is willing to help Kristine with the cooking. A teacher shows him how to make steak.

When Kristine arrives, Keith is dressed up and he has rose petals and candles everywhere. His wife is definitely impressed. She loves the meal and says she just might fall in love with him if he keeps this up.

“Married at First Sight” Season 8 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
