A tell-all book written by President Donald Trump’s niece sold almost 1 million copies on its first day of sale.

Publisher Simon & Schuster said on Thursday that Mary Trump's book, "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," sold an extraordinary 950,000 copies, including pre-sales, e-books and audiobooks, on Tuesday.

The company said the sales marked a new record for Simon & Schuster.

The book depicts President Trump, his father, his career and his childhood in a very unflattering light.

Simon & Schuster also said it has ordered a 14th printing of the book -- bringing the total number of hardcover copies in print to more than 1.15 million.

The book also ranked No. 1 on Amazon’s Top 100 bestseller list as of Thursday morning.

Another anti-Trump tell-all book recently published by Simon & Schuster -- "The Room Where It Happened” by former National Security Adviser John Bolton -- sold more than 780,000 copies in its first week.

“We sold more copies of Mary Trump’s book on the first day than we have of John Bolton’s book to date, and we are now out of stock,” said Daniel Goldin, owner of the Boswell Book Company bookstore in Milwaukee.

Mary Trump’s tome joins another successful books that have portrayed Donald Trump negatively – including "Fear" by Bob Woodward; "A Higher Loyalty" by former FBI Director James Comey; and "Fire & Fury” by Michael Wolff.

Trump or his aides have sometimes tried to block publication of such books.

The Trump Administration tried to thwart publication of Bolton’s book on grounds that it threatened national security.

Donald Trump’s younger brother Robert Trump filed a suit against Mary Trump, citing in court that her book violated a confidentiality agreement related to the estate of the president’s late father, Fred Trump. However, a judge in New York permitted its release by vacating a temporary injunction against Mary.

Mary Trump has also called on her uncle to resign from office.
