Netflix is getting in the DJ business with its newest series, “Turn Up Charlie,” which premieres on Friday.

Before Season 1 is released, get to know the cast of the series, which centers on a struggling single DJ whose last chance at finding success involves becoming a “manny” to his famous best friend’s daughter.

Idris Elba (Charlie)

Known for shows like “Luther” and “The Wire,” and for movies like “Obsessed,” “Thor” and “The Dark Tower,” Elba is also a DJ in real life. He started out in the field in the 1980s and still DJs now. He’s set to perform at Coachella later this year.

Piper Perabo (Sara)

The actress had her breakout role in the 2000 film, “Coyote Ugly,” but she’s had quite a few major roles since, like her USA CIA series, “Covert Affairs.” Most recently, Perabo starred in the short-lived ABC show, “Notorious.”

Frankie Hervey (Gabby)

“Turn Up Charlie” will be Hervey’s first credited onscreen role.

JJ Feild (David)

Viewers might remember Feild as James Montgomery Falsworth in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger” or from his role as Major John Andre in “TURN: Washington's Spies,” which he starred on from 2014 to 2016.

Angela Griffin (Astrid)

Since starting her career in 1993 with a role on “Emmerdale,” Griffin’s been on a slew of TV shows, including “Coronation Street,” “Holby City,” “Waterloo Road,” “Ordinary Lies” and “The Detail.”

Guz Khan (Del)

Before landing this Netflix gig, Khan worked on shows like “Borderline,” “Zapped” and “Man Like Mobeen.”

“Turn Up Charlie” Season 1 will be released on Netflix on Friday.
