There were no winners following the Mega Millions Friday night drawing worth an estimated $278 million with a cash value of $191.5 millon.

The winning Mega Millions numbers were 7, 29, 43, 56, and 57 with a gold Mega Ball of 6. The Megaplier was 3X.

Although no one was able to win the grand prize, several players were able to become instant millionaires following the latest lottery drawing.

A player from Missouri hit the Match 5 and won a $1 million prize. Meanwhile. A player in Maine managed to hit the Match 5 with a Megaplier purchase, putting their winnings for the night at $3 million.

Aside from the two instant millionaires of the night, there were several other players who won smaller monetary prizes from the Friday drawing. Thirteen players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball, winning $10,000 apiece.

However, there were only four players that were able to hit the Match 4 plus gold Mega Ball with a 3X Megaplier purchase and win $30,000 each.

The rest of the Mega Millions prizes from the night ranged between $2 and $1,500.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be worth an estimated $300 million with a cash option of $206.7 million. The numbers will be drawn on Tuesday, Jan. 11.

There has yet to be a Mega Millions jackpot winner in the new year. In 2021, six jackpot winnings were claimed.

The last time someone hit the jackpot was on Oct. 22, when a family from Arizona claimed the $108 million grand prize with a cash option of $75.2 million.

Lottery winners can choose to receive their winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity. Those who opt for the annuity receive one immediate payment that is followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% every year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
