The Mega Millions jackpot has grown after the Friday night lottery drawing yielded no winners for the $131 million grand prize with a cash value of $76.6 million. However, there were plenty of smaller monetary prizes that resulted from the latest drawing.

The winning Mega Millions numbers drawn on Friday, May 20 were 33, 40, 59, 60, 69, with a gold Mega Ball of 22. The Megaplier was 3X.

Since the jackpot went unclaimed, it will grow to $143 million with a cash option of $83.6 million. The next jackpot drawing will take place Tuesday, May 24.

Although there were no grand prize lottery winners from the Friday night drawing, there was one instant millionaire. A player in Virginia hit the Match 5, winning $1 million. If the player would have played with the Megaplier, they could have won $3 million.

Ten players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball, winning $10,000 each. Meanwhile, three players were able to hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with the Megaplier and won $30,000 apiece. The rest of the wins from the night ranged between $2 and $1,500.

The latest Mega Millions drawing comes after a player from Virginia claimed a $1 million winning ticket.

Vanessa Hernandez Lopez’s boyfriend purchased the ticket at a 7-Eleven in Timberville for the May 10 drawing and gave it to her.

The couple checked the ticket at a different store and were unaware of how much the prize was worth until they claimed it at the ​​Virginia Lottery’s customer service center in Harrisonburg.

Hernandez Lopez revealed she was “excited” by the big win but had no immediate plans for the money.

Mega Millions jackpot winners can receive their grand prize winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity.

Those who opt for the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
