Even though there were no grand prize winners following the latest drawing, one player managed to become an instant millionaire. A player from Iowa hit the Match 5 and won $1 million.

If the player would have matched the five numbers and purchased the Megaplier, they would have won $4 million.

Aside from the instant millionaire, several other smaller wins resulted from the night. Eleven players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball, putting their winnings at $10,000 apiece.

Meanwhile, two of those players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with a 4X Megaplier purchase, winning $40,000 each.

The other Mega Millions wins from the evening ranged between $2 and $2,000.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be worth an estimated $210 million, with a cash option of $114 million. The numbers will be drawn on Friday, Sept. 9.

The latest jackpot comes after a player from Iowa claimed a $2 million prize from the July 29 drawing. Ben Sanford claimed the prize almost a month after the drawing when bought six plays for the Mega Millions game.

Since Sanford usually buys his lottery tickets with his stepfather Jason Sanford, the two plan to split the prize. The winning ticket was purchased at the Big 10 Mart in Bettendorf.

While the two men said they plan to invest their winnings carefully, Ben Sanford may buy a new car.

Mega Millions jackpot winners can receive their grand prize winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity.

Those who opt for the annuity receive one immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% each year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
