Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still being criticized for their decision to quit the royal family.

Even though the Duke of Sussex revealed that it took them months of discussion before they made the tough decision, a royal expert is convinced that they should’ve waited longer.

While speaking with The Sun, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams slammed the royal couple for deserting the royal family when times became difficult. He said that if Markle and Prince Harry really supported The Firm and what it stands for, they wouldn’t run away no matter what.

“One the contrary, you gather around and support the Queen. [They] didn’t rock the boat – they capsized it. They could have waited, instead of springing this on the Royal Family when they were in a weak position. The time to jump ship isn't when there are serious problems,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle also made headlines this week amid rumors that the royal couple already split. Woman’s Day claimed that the Duchess of Sussex is currently in hiding in Canada following her shocking separation from Prince Harry.

“Some of her friends thought she would divorce Harry and marry a billionaire. She always talked about marrying a billionaire before she met Harry,” a source told the tabloid.

The insider went on to say that Prince Harry is currently in panic mode following the split. Markle was allegedly supposed to call her husband during the royal family’s crisis talks in Sandringham, but she didn’t. Prince Harry was therefore forced to admit to the Queen, Prince Charles, and Prince William that he didn’t have any idea where his wife was.

However, these types of claims should be taken with a grain of salt. Prince Harry and Markle are living a quiet and peaceful life in Canada, and they haven’t gone their separate ways.

In fact, a source told Closer Weekly that the royal couple feels settled in their new home, and they are also getting to know their neighbors.
