Meghan Markle has a certain style that Kate Middleton is unlikely to follow.

According to Martina Bet, a journalist for Express, the Duchess of Sussex was accused of being “wasteful” due to her expensive wardrobe. Back in July, when Markle and Prince Harry visited the Republic of Ireland, the former “Suits” star spent so much for her outfits.

According to royal correspondent Dickie Arbiter in the 2018 documentary “Harry and Meghan: The First 100 Days,” Markle spent almost $37,000 worth of clothes in the 48-hour visit to Ireland. He said that the couple should limit on their extravagance, adding that “If it is good enough for the Queen to recycle clothes then it must be good enough for Meghan.”

Fashion and Lifestyle blogger Juliet Angus believes that the future queen consort Middleton would never do what Markle did.

“Dior, Givenchy, Emilia Wickstead in one day,” Angus said before adding “that is one expensive bill to pay.” She also questioned if Markle is the princess that the people are preparing for.

“I don’t think this is something Kate would do,” she noted.

Prince Harry’s wife has been attacked by a number of trolls and critics for different reasons. One netizen said that Markle was actually disliked not for her race or feminist views but due to dishonesty and extreme spending from her clothes to renovations.

Markle repeated the move she made in Ireland during her baby shower in New York where she spent $10,994 for her clothing. Prince Harry’s wife has been slammed for overspending on her outfits.

In fact, according to a report earlier this year, Markle spent $500,000 in her 2018 wardrobe which is six times more than Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge only spent $87,000 on her clothing in the same year.

Among the reasons Middleton had less clothing expenses was because she was on maternity leave, so she attended fewer engagements. However, aside from this, Middleton is popular for repeating her outfits, earning her the nickname “Thrifty Kate.”

Middleton has been recycling multiple outfits on different occasions. For instance, last month she graced the Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery in London wearing a black Alexander McQueen gown. She was first seen wearing the said dress when she graced the BAFTAs 2017. However, Middleton upgraded the off-the-shoulder design by swapping it with cap sleeves to give the dress a brand new look.
