Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have each been known to break royal rules and go against traditions in various ways. Earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex broke a style rule while on her royal tour of Africa with Prince Harry. Additionally, the Duchess of Cambridge has also "previously courted controversy" by doing things as she sees fit.

Now, both have decided to make a similar choice in regards to how they parent their children, but in doing so, they face a unique consequence.

According to the Daily Mail, both of the Duchesses have only employed one nanny each to assist them when it comes to taking care of their children. While Meghan and Harry have decided not to publicly reveal the name of Archie Harrison's caregiver, William and Kate have shared that their most prominent nanny is named Maria Borrallo. Reportedly, Borrallo has been with the Cambridges since 2014, which means she began taking care of Prince George since he was only eight months old.

As a result of the "stripped-back staff," it is believed that Kate missed the recent Tusk Awards due to the illness of one of her children. Due to the lack of assistance, she reportedly felt as though she needed to stay behind. Per the publication, a member of the royal family canceling an event due to childcare issues is an "unprecedented" move.

As Meghan and Harry at this time only employ one nanny as well, this is an issue that they may also have to face at some point.

Even though the members of the British royal family have "shunned royal tradition" in a similar manner, they have also deviated when it comes to other parts of their parenting styles. In the past, Prince William has allegedly been critical of one particular decision that Harry and Meghan have made regarding Archie.

Making the unique staffing choice would also not be the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have decided to carve their own path regarding who they choose to employ. Earlier this year, it was reported that Meghan decided not to hire someone to fill a particular role in her life, which could help her avoid certain "errors." Additionally, both royals hired a "surprising" person this year following their split from The Royal Foundation.
