Meghan Markle has been dubbed as “dated” by Anna Mewes, a fashion expert, ever since she copied Kate Middleton’s style.

In the past, Markle was applauded for her daring and edgy style because it was different from Middleton. However, since she married Prince Harry, she has morphed into a real royal whose choices in clothing are subtler.

While speaking with Express, Mewes said, “I think it’s understandable that Meghan has played it quite safe since her wedding but I am a bit disappointed that she hasn’t been a little more daring with some of her sartorial choices. She had a lovely edge to her look before becoming a Duchess which I think she could have kept to a certain degree after getting married.”

Mewes also talked about the sudden changes in Markle’s hairstyle. In the past, the former actress made headlines for her messy bun. But during her recent outings, her hair has been properly fixed. Mewes said that Markle’s style is a mistake on the Duchess of Sussex’s behalf and not on her advisers.

“I would be telling her to go back to her signature hairstyles that are just a little deconstructed, rather than the perfectly done glossy waves, which for me are a little dated,” she said.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Mewes has talked about Markle’s style. The personal stylist previously said that Prince Harry’s wife is indeed morphing into Middleton.

“Meghan’s style certainly bears more resemblance to Kate’s since she became Duchess. Her overall look has become more polished and her hair at recent royal engagements has been styled in glossy curls and understated up-dos which are almost identical to Kate’s,” she told Express.

“Both Kate and Meghan gravitate towards quite fitted, tailored dresses and when you look back, Meghan has been a fan of this more structured style long before the royal wedding. Meghan would often opt for quite bold jewel tones but since her marriage to Prince Harry her wardrobe has been made up of neutral shades with no color whatsoever,” she added.

But at the end of the day, Markle is more in-tune with today’s current fashion trends.
