Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may decide to quit their life as royals anytime they please.

While speaking with Express, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that nothing and no one could prevent the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from quitting. He also used Princess Diana as an example and said that there was a time when the Princess of Wales also opted out of her royal life.

“I think it is worth remembering that Diana’s ‘opt-out’ of public life was followed by her famous walk through a minefield in Angola and would undoubtedly have been followed by more amazing charitable activities. She resigned as a patron of the majority of her charities to concentrate on a few. Her future to help others seemed to have no limit save, alas, for the tragedy of her early death,” he said.

Fitzwilliams went on to say that Prince Harry is devoted to his late mom’s memory. As such, he and his wife may consider the possibility of ceasing to be royals in the conventional sense. Prince Harry and Markle may also reduce their royal duties and engagements just like what the Duchess of Kent did.

But while Prince Harry and Markle are still very much dedicated in their royal life, they should remind themselves that they have the power to do good. The couple’s global appeal and their celebrity connections also help them do more good thing to the world.

“Their fondness for celebrities has become famous, Meghan was one and loves this life, but it is important to remember the good these links can do, such as the Obamas and the Invictus Games and Oprah Winfrey and mental illness. It can only be a matter of time before they travel to the US where they will be lionized,” he said.

Prince Harry and Markle will be traveling to South Africa this week and Fitzwilliam said that their royal tour will definitely be a success.
