Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were not accommodating to Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie will be baptized on Saturday. It was confirmed that Her Majesty won’t make it to the event, but the couple is apparently to blame because they were not accommodating.

“Her Majesty was already scheduled to be in Scotland for her annual Holyrood Week and had a prior engagement at the weekend,” an insider said. “There is a feeling amongst some that they should have been more accommodating about the date.”

Sources said that there was huge support for the couple for not wanting to conform to traditions because they are young and are trying to strike out a different path from the other members of the royal family. However, they should not disregard tradition.

Several sources also said that the Queen’s lack of attendance at Archie’s christening is due to Prince Harry and Markle’s choice of date. They reportedly choose a date without consulting the other members of the family’s calendar.

Initially, Archie’s baptism was set on Friday but was rescheduled. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex already made plans with their son’s godparents and Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland. However, the couple later learned that both Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles couldn’t make it to the event due to prior engagements. So, they decided to move it to Saturday to accommodate Prince Charles.

Prince Harry and Markle decided to make Archie’s christening private. However, their decision didn’t sit well with royal fans who notice how they have been trying to live like private individuals when they are funded by the public.

In a poll hosted by Express, 82 percent of the participants didn't support the couple’s decision. One said that Prince Harry and Markle could live private lives if they stick to private funding only. However, when the public money is involved then it becomes a public matter.

“The British people have loved and supported PH since the day of his birth. What a way to pay them back for all those years. Oh yes, and keep cashing those cheques,” another netizen said.
