Meghan Markle may choose to wear a dress by a Canadian designer to pay homage to her “home away from home.” However, this does not mean that her best friend, Jessica Mulroney, who is from Canada, will be designing her dress.

Christine Ross, the editor of Meghan’s Mirror, said that there’s going to be a lengthy interview process before Markle can decide on the designer that will create her wedding dress.

“I imagine Meghan has reached out to designers she loves and admires and has spoken with them about design options and their design process. From there, she would choose a designer who she clicks with to create the perfect bespoke gown,” she told E! News.

Helping Markle throughout the process is her best friend, Mulroney. Ross said that it’s an ideal move because Mulroney has proven that she can keep secrets. As such, the Canadian designer won’t reveal that identity of Markle’s wedding gown maker until the former actress is ready to do so herself.

Mulroney has also been aware of Markle and Prince Harry’s romance since after the two went out on their first date, but she never told the public about it.

According to Ross, Mulroney also has a good taste when it comes to her clothing. “She loves everything from high-end iconic name brands like Burberry and Prada, to smaller designers like Mackage and Sarah Flint,” she said.

Meanwhile, Markle may choose to work with a Canadian designer as a tribute to her home while she was still filming for “Suits.” The actress may also hire a designer from the country since she is an American citizen.

The publication noted that it’s possible for Markle to also hire a British designer as a way to pledge her allegiance to her new home, London. One of top choices for her from the United Kingdom could be Misha Nonoo.

Stylist Karla Welch said that she thinks Markle would look good in a Stella McCartney wedding gown. She described the brand as “British and modern, and a feminist. And strong and unconventional,” she said.
