  • Meghan Markle's former pal Lizzie Cundy claimed the royals were concerned about the duchess' attendance at the Platinum Jubilee
  • The royals were allegedly worried about what Markle would share in the interviews and memoirs
  • Cundy believed that Markle should have visited her father in California instead of joining Prince Harry in the U.K.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are already in the U.K. to join the other royals for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee. But one of the duchess' pals has claimed the members of the firm are concerned about her presence.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that they would return to England to be with the 96-year-old British monarch as she celebrates her 70 years on the throne. They arrived in Prince Harry's home country Wednesday, a day before the festivity started.

Markle's former pal, Lizzie Cundy, claimed that her royal friends shared their concerns about Markle's attendance at the event. They are allegedly more worried about the Duchess of Sussex than Prince Andrew.

"I know that [people at] the palace are very worried, they're more worried about her than Andrew because they're worried about what will be said," Cundy told Daily Star. "They're worried about what will be used in interviews or ... the memoirs. The other royals are very concerned about Meghan being there and the ramifications of her being there, what will Meghan be doing next?"

The TV presenter believed that the Duke of York would be present at the Thanksgiving Service on Friday if the Queen wants him to be there.

"I do think Andrew will make an appearance, it's the Queen's wishes," she continued. "We all know whatever he may have done, he's her son, he's always been known as her favorite son, and she wants him to be somehow part of it."

Meanwhile, she said it would have been best for Prince Harry's wife to visit her father, Thomas Markle Sr., instead of joining her husband in Britain. Markle's estranged sister, Samantha Markle, said they haven't heard from her after their dad was released from the hospital due to a major stroke.

"I don't think it's very fair on our Queen, to be honest, I think she should have stayed away and been with her father," Cundy explained. "I think that would have been the right thing to do, and I think she would have won a lot of sympathy with a lot of people if she'd done the right thing."

Queen Elizabeth announced earlier that she would not attend the National Service of Thanksgiving on Friday because she was experiencing some discomfort. However, she attended Trooping the Color and Beacon Lighting event at Windsor Castle.

"The Queen greatly enjoyed today's Birthday Parade and flypast but did experience some discomfort," the palace said in a statement obtained by Us Weekly. "Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow's National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral, Her Majesty, with great reluctance, has concluded that she will not attend."
