Meghan Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., recently broke down into tears while talking about his family’s ongoing feud.

On the Italian show “Live Non-E La D’Urso,” Thomas pleaded with the Duchess of Sussex to reconcile with their dad especially with the upcoming arrival of her first child.

Thomas also explained why he wrote a controversial letter to Queen Elizabeth II last year ahead of Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding. In the letter, Thomas asked Her Majesty to not allow the couple to tie the knot because the “Suits” alum is a threat to the royal family.

“I wrote that letter in a period of real frustration. She did reply and said I was only distant family and I felt very frustrated by it… I couldn’t believe it, as we were so close growing up as kids,” he said (via The Sun).

Thomas also said that Markle is not a danger to the crown and the royal family because she is loving, intelligent, and extraordinary. According to Thomas, the last time he spoke with his half-sister was in 2011.

“The big question is why she doesn’t want to speak to me or her sister Samantha. There is a lot of pressure on her… She went into the spotlight overnight and it’s been very difficult,” he said.

Thomas also revealed that he has reached out to Prince Harry’s wife to ask for help on how to deal with the press but he did not receive any response from the royal. This was what motivated him to write a letter to Her Majesty.

Since writing the controversial letter, Thomas said that his negative feelings towards his sister have changed.

But despite Thomas’ desire to make amends with Markle, he also said that he didn’t think the relationship between his half-sister and dad could be repaired. He also told Mirror that Markle and Thomas Sr. are both responsible for what happened to their once close relationship.
