Melania Trump announced on Twitter that she is going address the mental hardship and safety issues amid the coronavirus pandemic, and several netizens quickly reacted to her post.

The First Lady of the United States has been doing her part during the lockdown. On Monday (May 18), she took to Twitter and announced that she would be making a statement about the mental health and safety issues plaguing many people amid the pandemic.

“Looking forward to discussing #COVID19 response & recovery efforts w/ @POTUS @VP & our nation's governors today. I plan to address the mental hardship & safety this pandemic has had on children & families, & what states can do to help,” Melania wrote.

The FLOTUS’ post was met with mixed reactions from social media users. Many praised her for actively involving herself. However, several also questioned Melania’s capacity, with one even calling her “useless.”

Some also sarcastically taunted Melania for her lack of experience because her previous career as a model won’t help. Others attacked the FLOTUS and some wondered if she’s really aware of what the public is going through at the moment.

“Yes, cause your ‘career’ as a model prepared you so well for this pandemic...” Andrew Dice Sorkin wrote.

“How would you know about hardships of working people?” Diana Zeigler asked.

“What in the hell would you possibly be able to add to the collection of clueless dolts including your husband. People of power and wealth who live in their own ‘climate controlled kingdoms’ have no idea the hardships faced by working families and their children,” Jeff Russell wrote.

Meanwhile, many were also thankful for Melania’s efforts amid the crisis.

"Thank you f the bottom of my heart for being a lady of grace and poise through these crazy times. You are an amazing role model for women everywhere!" @jhart_Q17 commented.

“So proud of our First Lady!” @MatthewJshow added.
