  • Kate Middleton suffered the same gaffe in 2012
  • Social media also slammed Donald Trump for leaving Melania and Barron alone on the tarmac

Melania Trump avoided a wardrobe malfunction in Florida.

The first family flew to Florida to spend the weekend at their Mar-a-Lago resort. In a clip shared by Express, the first lady, her son Barron and President Donald Trump were caught on camera deplaning.

Before the family descended the stairs, the FLOTUS and POTUS stopped to wave to the crowd. Barron stayed behind his parents. When they were walking down, Melania was battling to keep her white Caroline Herrera dress from blowing up in the wind. Melania made sure to avoid having a Marilyn Monroe moment by holding her skirt down until they reached the vehicle waiting for them.

However, while many saw how Melania struggled to keep her skirt down, some insulted the FLOTUS. “Let’s be frank. It’s not like we all haven’t seen her without clothes,” one wrote on Twitter.

The first lady was also close to experiencing a similar wardrobe malfunction when she visited Malawi in October 2018. Upon arrival, the FLOTUS was welcomed by excited crowds including children who were cheering for her. However, the wind whipped her dress and Melania struggled to keep her outfit in place. Thankfully, Melania’s valiant effort to hold her dress down worked and she didn’t show much skin.

Kate Middleton also experienced the same embarrassing moment, but the Duchess of Cambridge had it worse. In 2012, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Australia and Middleton accidentally flashed her derrière after a heavy wind blew her dress up. Although the incident was embarrassing, the duchess received praises for her “great bum.”

In a different sighting, the president Trump was slammed for leaving his wife and son on the tarmac. In the video shared by The Hill, Trump descends the airstair with Barron behind him. He went on and greeted the crowd without looking back at Melania and Barron. It appeared to the netizens that he was ignoring his family.

Life and style etiquette expert Elaine Swan shared the same opinion. For her, Trump’s gesture of greeting the people while his wife was still descending the airstair was “incorrect.”

Trump and Melania will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. It remains unknown how the couple will celebrate the milestone of their marriage. But just days ago, Melania sparked marital feud rumors when she grimaced after Trump reached out to hold her hand.
