Melania Trump was lambasted by Twitter users for threatening to sue those who called her “escort.”

In 2016, the First Lady of the United States threatened to sue the U.K.’s Daily Mail and other publications who claimed that she worked as a high-paid escort during her modeling days. According to Melania’s lawyer Charles Harder, the FLOTUS placed several news organization on notice for making false and defamatory statements about her “supposedly having been an escort in 1990s.”

Harder added that those statements are “100 [percent] false, highly damaging to her reputation, and personally hurtful.” Melania understood that the news media have certain leeway in a presidential campaign but outright lying about her wasn’t acceptable.

Three years later, Twitter users are still not over Melania’s actions. The issue has resurfaced, with some criticizing the FLOTUS for taking legal action and some mocking her that “it doesn’t change the fact that she has looked and behaved” like one.

“Cheap & common would be a good alternative. After all, she couldn't even afford clothes in those pictures,” one commented implying about Melania’s nude photos.

A different social media user said that it was a “bad move” for the FLOTUS because if she sues someone for the issue, she has to prove it in court and it only opens up the potential for her former clients to testify under oath. So it will only make things worse for her. “This is the worst thing she can do,” the netizen concluded.

Some also attacked Melania for allegedly lying about her architect degree. Meanwhile, one sarcastically asked if she would be sued if she retweets the hashtag “#MelaniaTrumpIsAnExHooker.” Another user called the FLOTUS “ex-hooker” and even challenged her to sue him.

“Can she also sue anyone who calls her an ex-architect— since she was lying about having an architecture degree?” one wrote.

In related news, Melania got candid with her relationship and marriage with her husband, President Donald Trump. She said that she didn’t focus on the rumors about his alleged affairs because she is a mother and a first lady and there are more important thing that she has to think about. Melania also said “yes” when asked if she loves her spouse.
