NFL Hall Of Famer Michael Strahan received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. The sportsperson-turned-entertainer became the first individual whose name was placed at the popular tourist spot in the "sports entertainment category."

The ceremony was held at 6918 Hollywood Blvd., between Highland and Orange avenues, NBC Chicago reported. Strahan was joined by "Brooklyn 99" actor Terry Crews and entertainer Constance Schwartz.

"Many people have been there with me along the way, and I am tremendously grateful to you all," the former New York Giants star wrote on social media. "I'm just having fun, and when you have fun and work hard... Anything is possible."

The sports entertainment category for Walk of Fame stars was first introduced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 2021. The new category honors individuals who have shown "longevity of excellence" in the sports and entertainment world, as per the outlet.

Strahan was an active part of the NFL for 15 years, all of which he spent with the New York Giants. He left the league after the 2008 season ended, dethroning New England Patriots and securing Super Bowl XLII.

Strahan first appeared on the "Fox NFL Sunday" pre-game show after exiting New York Giants. Two years later, he appeared on "Live! With Regis and Kelly," which later became a regular gig for Strahan, Variety reported. He currently appears as a co-host on "Good Morning America."

The 51-year-old has received four Daytime Emmy nominations so far, out of which he has won two, according to IMDb. He was also nominated for Sports Emmy Awards in 2014 and 2018 in the category of Outstanding Sports Personality - Studio Analyst.

As of 2023, Strahan's net worth is estimated to be nearly $65 million, as per Sportskeeda. The outlet also reported that his current annual salary is approximately $17 million.

Strahan also co-founded SMAC Entertainment (Sports, Media and Culture) in 2011 with Schwartz. The organization reportedly focuses on talent management and business incubation. Celebrities like Wiz Khalifa, Brie Bella, Erin Andrews, Michael Griffin, October Gonzalez and Troy Aikman are associated with SMAC Entertainment.
