Michelle Obama is known for bravely speaking her mind, especially when she thinks she is doing right. The former First Lady of the United States has also been very vocal about her struggles for being a mom of two and a wife to Barack Obama, who used to be the most powerful man in America. Since Michelle is a very strong woman, her avid followers are curious as to where and whom does she take inspiration from to survive all the challenges life has been throwing at her.

During an interview with Marie Claire in 2008, Michelle said that Hillary Clinton has influenced her big time. “Hillary Clinton has been a great source of inspiration ... she and President Clinton did an incredible job raising their daughter, Chelsea, who has grown up to be a beautiful, intelligent, caring, successful woman,” she told Abigail Pesta at the time.

Michelle Obama also mentioned American educator Laura Bush, who was First Lady during the presidency of George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009. “Laura Bush has also handled herself and her girls so elegantly during their years in the White House,” Michelle stated.

The American lawyer was even inspired by how Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are achieving their dreams one step at a time despite the innate racial and gender prejudices they have been facing for years. Michelle added she would pass on all the lessons she learned from the two political personalities to Malia Ann and Sasha while installing a sense of pride and self-confidence.

Michelle and Hillary have become closer to each other when they started traveling the U.S. together for the former secretary of state's presidential campaign in 2010. Michelle spent several weeks flying to and fro the competitive states and delivered versions of the compelling speech she gave at the Democratic national convention in July 2016.

Though they clearly different from each other in almost all aspects of life, Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton shared one common thing: living two terms as FLOTUS. “I’m going to state the obvious. It’s not easy. You’ve got so many people counting on you, you’ve got the eyes of the world on you,” Hillary said of the role. “And let’s be real, as our nation’s first African American first lady, she’s faced pressures I never did, and she’s handled them with pure grace,” she went on.

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama sent her avid followers into a meltdown when she shared a rare family portrait on Twitter to celebrate Thanksgiving on Wednesday. In the snap, the ex-FLOTUS wrote a black-and-white dress while Barack opted to wear a plaid shirt. Malia sported a purple oversized dress while Sasha donned a black split leg maxi dress. “From our family to yours, #HappyThanksgiving!” Michelle wrote in the caption.
