Michelle Obama’s fashion choices and intelligence enabled her to be featured on a magazine cover.

Last week, some people reacted to the ex-FLOTUS’ inclusion in the People of the Year list along with Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift. Some said that Melania Trump also deserved a spot.

One even questioned why Barack Obama’s wife was only recognized this year when she had been in the White House for eight years. Another said that the current first lady has accomplished a lot with her kindness, charities and beauty. A letter published on Mercury News also claimed that Melania would be on every fashion magazine cover if she were a democrat.

Michelle’s supporters defended her. According to them, she is fashionable and intelligent that’s why she landed on fashion magazine covers.

“Michelle Obama made the fashion magazines because she was fashionable,” one commented.

@MichelleObama had class, dignity & intelligence, she worked to better America. She strived to improve the health & welfare of people, a focus on our children, through exercise and diet. We were honored to have her represent the USA. She was loved and looked up to. She is missed!” one wrote.

Hello Beautiful also considered Obama one of the “most fashionable women of our generation.” The publication shared a snap of the former first lady in neon yellow couture gown by Italian designer Schiaparelli and added that Michelle slayed it.

Last year, Michelle also graced the cover of Elle Magazine’s December issue. Several online users praised Michelle for being featured in the magazine. One said that Michelle is an inspiration to those who lack confidence and Melania could learn a thing or two from the ex-FLOTUS.

According to Kate Betts, Michelle set the bar high in terms of fashion diplomacy. Melania seemed to have learned from this because she has taken more of Michelle’s approach in her fashion choices when she visited London in June.
