Microsoft, Sony Offering Big Discounts On Games For Xbox, PlayStation Consoles

Microsoft and Sony are getting customers ready for some major summer sales and discounts on games for current-generation consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and last-gen consoles PS3, PS Vita and Xbox 360. On the Microsoft side, the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale is now underway, offering game discounts of as much as 50 percent to regular Xbox players and an additional 10 percent for Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Leading the selection of titles for Xbox One is “Far Cry 4,” discounted at 60 percent for Xbox Live Gold members; “Mortal Kombat X” at 25 percent; “Battlefield Hardline,” at 40 percent; “Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” at 40 percent. Other Xbox One titles with significant discounts include:

For users of PlayStation consoles, Sony has announced via the PlayStation Blog the Superhero Sale, which boasts discounts of up to 60 percent for PlayStation players and up to 80 percent on select titles for PlayStation Plus members. The titles include “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham,” “Mortal Kombat X,” “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and “Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark.” But the sale goes beyond superheroes, as titles in the supernatural territory also are included. The sale encompasses games for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, including the following titles:
