Miley Cyrus has a new gal pal! The pop singer revealed that she is friends with the reality transgender star, Caitlyn Jenner.

Cyrus made the revelation during an interview with Marie Claire for its September cover story. The “Wrecking Ball” singer told the magazine that Jenner considers her as a friend. The former Disney star also shared how she and Jenner talked about never being able to make every single person happy.

“We always laugh about people saying she transitioned to be famous. Which is crazy. Caitlyn has to tell her story, because if she doesn't, everyone else is going to tell it for her," Cyrus said.

Jenner and Cyrus’ budding friendship may not be a surprise to many fans, according to E!News, given that the singer was one of the first celebrities to show her support through Twitter after Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover debut. The pop star even used Jenner’s image as an inspiration for four art pieces that she created and auctioned off during the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) Inspiration Gala. The gala was to help raise money for HIV and AIDS research.

The former “Hannah Montana” actress is also an avid LGBT advocate and she even launched the “Happy Hippie Foundation” to help homeless and at-risk LGBT youth. Cyrus launched the foundation in early May and celebrated its launch with a fundraising drive that included a series of "Backyard Sessions" performances, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The singer shared that she chose the homeless since it’s “something that we all see every single day.” She said, “It's like the birds chirping -- we just ignore it because we're so used to it. You're looking down at your phone, but you never look at someone who's sitting there and needs help.”

The September issue of Marie Claire featuring the pop star will be out on newsstands on Aug. 18.
