Miley Cyrus is the latest celebrity to comment about the viral topic of storming Area 51 to find out if they are really keeping aliens there. The singer posted a throwback picture of her with friend Selena Gomez on social media recently and said that they are on their way to the government facility.

The photo Cyrus shared on Twitter is from an episode from her “Hannah Montana” TV series. The “Wrecking Ball” singer and Gomez are dressed as blue aliens in the snap.

Cyrus jokingly wrote that she and Gomez are on their way to Area 51. The issue of a million people storming Area 51 started off as a joke on Facebook, but it quickly went viral and now the authorities are worried about stopping people who take it seriously and actually try to storm the facility. The scheduled date for people to gather there is Sept. 30 at 3 a.m., People reported.

Area 51 is actually a classified U.S. Air Force base in Nevada. Over the years the location has been subject to conspiracy theories about UFOs and aliens, especially with Hollywood reinforcing the idea.

Cyrus not only joked about storming Area 51, but in another tweet she joked about actually being there once and meeting an alien. The selfie she shared online showed her dressed as a taco, standing next to someone dressed in a green alien costume.

What will Cyrus do if she meets a real alien? The singer said that she will be a “bad influence” even on the extraterrestrials. She shared a photo of her kissing someone wearing an alien mask on the lips. Many of the fans who commented on the post felt that it was disgusting and they also reminded the singer to promote her music instead of sharing such posts online.

While Cyrus has been actively talking about storming Area 51, her friend Gomez has so far been silent on the issue. It remains to be seen if people will actually go there on Sept. 30 even after authorities have warned everyone not to.
