Miley Cyrus is facing a huge amount of controversy now that she’s dating Cody Simpson. But what could he had possibly given to the “Don’t Call Me Angel” singer that others couldn’t that’s worth all these risks?

A supposed source exclusively told Hollywood Life that Cyrus felt liberated and free with Simpson, according to the report of the said news outlet. The insider claimed that Cyrus loved that Simpson encouraged her authenticity. The new couple also have a common ground, according to the supposed source —referring to Simpson being an open book just like Cyrus. She is a breath of freshness to Simpson and he is embracing Cyrus’ uniqueness and originality.

Gushing over Simpson, Cyrus once wrote a post telling the world that a person does not need to be gay because there are still good men out there. A statement, which offended some members of LGBTQIA, she clarified later on, ABC News reported.

Cyrus is the type of woman courageous enough to speak her truth. She isn’t afraid to show people her quirky personality and those who couldn’t handle that may find it hard to deal with her, at least on a personal level. She’s a free-spirited person and unique in her own way and that probably got in the way of her past relationships.

When Cyrus and now ex-husband Laim Hemsworth broke up back in 2013, they were silent about the cause. When they got back together a few years after, Cyrus revealed the reason they parted ways.

“I had to,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer said while guesting in the radio show SiriusXM, Her reported. She further explained that she didn’t like a half-and-half-trying-to-make-it-whole kind of relationship. She wanted a normal relationship and disliked any co-dependencies. She described being single as a time for growing up and it helps being on your own in the process.

A few months ago, Hemsworth and Cyrus announced their split. Initial reports claimed that it was amicable. A few days later, reports came out of Hemsworth’s extreme party habits and substance abuse and Cyrus’ cheating as the reasons of the split. Thereafter, Hemsworth filed for a divorce for irreconcilable differences.

Not even a day after Cyrus and Hemsworth’s split made to headlines, the “Slide Away” singer had her photos all over the place with Kaitlynn Carter. The ladies never issued a statement confirming their relationships status but there were different sources claiming that they were romantically involved. However, in less than a month of being together, reports of Cyrus and Carter parting ways surfaced.
