The Golden State Warriors are still the clear favorites to win another championship, but one team recently saw their odds substantially improve.

Westgate SuperBook boosted the Philadelphia 76ers' odds of winning the NBA title from 30-1 to 16-1 after the team acquired Jimmy Butler on Saturday from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Vegas Insider also lists the Sixers at 16/1.

"I like the deal for Philly," said Jeff Sherman, Westgate's sportsbook manager, according to Philly.com. "I don't think they gave up much at all and added a solid veteran to keep defenses more honest."

The Sixers acquired Butler and reserve big man Justin Patton for young forwards Dario Saric and Robert Covington, as well as veteran guard Jerryd Bayless and a second-round pick in 2022.

The Sixers haven't won a title since 1983.

But the Sixers are still very far behind. Vegas Insider lists four teams in front of them and the Warriors are still well ahead of the pack at 10/19. Golden State was the clear frontrunner last season, as well, and cruised to their third title in four years.

Oddsmakers list the Toronto Raptors, who have jumped out to a 12-1 record, as the No. 2 team with just 7/1 odds. The Raptors have a 2.5 game lead in the East over the Milwaukee Bucks, who share 16/1 odds with the Sixers.

While the Raptors have the best odds in the East they are followed very close behind by the Boston Celtics at 15/2. The Celtics are just 7-5 on the season and own the fourth-best record in the conference.

The Warriors toughest competition in the West remains the Houston Rockets, who are listed as 14/1 longshots.

The Timberwolves opened the season with 100/1 odds of winning the title but after trading Butler they are listed at 250/1.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who added LeBron James in the offseason, are off to a 6-6 start and have seen their odds drop from 10/1 to start the season to 25/1.
