  • LeBron James is considered the GOAT
  • But, he is not called GOAT in Lakers' dressing room
  • Lakers are currently on the top of the western conference table

LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the best players to have played professional basketball. Several fans and National Basketball Association (BVA) pundits have already declared that he is the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ (GOAT).

But, the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar has given the nickname of GOAT to a teammate of his, even the NBA fans would never accept that. Alex Caruso, Lakers’ shooting guard, recently revealed that James calls him GOAT among the Lakers’ teammates.

“Every time I see him and say, 'Hey, Bron,' he just calls me GOAT. The first couple times it kind of threw me off. Now it’s just an everyday thing,” New York Times quoted Caruso as saying.

So far this season, Caruso has averaged 5.9 points and two rebounds off the bench. The youngster spent nearly two seasons in the G-league on two-way contracts before he finally bagged a full deal last summer when he signed a $5.5m deal with the Lakers.

Despite his low numbers in the ongoing season of NBA, he still is considered as a vital member of the Lakers, who are comfortably on the top of the western conference right now.

“Every time he’s in the game, he’s a plus guy. He can do so much. He can defend at a high level. He’s smart. He’s very tough. To have him on this ball club is a luxury,” legendary James heaped praise on Caruso.

The 25-year-old also opened up on his new nickname given by James. “I think I’m just comfortable in my own skin, man. I know who I am. I know what I do. And at the end of the day, it’s basketball. People like to put a lot of hype around it, but for me, at the end of the day, I think it’s just my job to go out there and play. Whenever I don’t think and I just play, I play my best. It’s gotten me this far, and I think it’s going to carry me further,” Caruso added.
