KEY POINTS

  • Kyrie Irving's absence will be explained in due time
  • The Capitol Attacks and Jacob Blake shooting may not be the only things Irving is dealing with
  • The Brooklyn Nets are finding ways to fill Irving's void

Kyrie Irving continues to miss games for the Brooklyn Nets, allegedly due to personal reasons.

The heavily-criticized attacks on the Capitol last week is believed to be one of the reasons although there could be something more that has yet to be known.

Whatever Irving is going through right now, there is a chance that only a few may know.

As far as his time off from the Nets, the management is trying to be patient and hoping that he will be back in the groove of things.

The latest on “Uncle Drew” is that he is completely off the grid. This was the latest and only update from Jason Dumas of Kron4 News on the six-time All-Star.

Irving will miss his fourth game for the Nets. The good news is that Kevin Durant will be back as Brooklyn tries to get things back in order. The team is 1-2 with Irving not playing.

While his absence due to the US Capitol coup is understandable, there could be something more bugging Irving. Before the attacks, there was that unpopular verdict on the Jacob Blake shooting. Beyond those, other matters that are possibly preventing Irving from playing are unknown.

Nets coach Steve Nash may have an idea of what is going on with the one-time NBA champion although he prefers not to divulge.

He said that no less than Irving himself will explain the reason behind his hold out at the proper time, USA Today reported.

"Ky’s still on personal leave and all the communication with Ky, between the organization, I’m going to keep private and I’m sure you’ll hear from him at some point," Nash stated.

Durant also gave his take on Irving’s dilemma via SNY, practically concurring with what Nash said.

“I’m sure you guys will see him soon whenever he comes back. We support him 100 percent and pray for the best,” Durant stated.

Adjustments are being made with players like Joe Harris and Caris LeVert stepping up in the absence of Irving.

Considering they are on a two-game losing streak, the Nets may break that spell against the Denver Nuggets. The Irving-less Brooklyn hosts Nikola Jokic and the crew at the Barclays Center on Tuesday with tip-off starting at 7:30 p.m.
