  • Draymond Green is likely to be handed hefty fine by NBA for comments on Drummond situation
  • Green has had enough as players are getting humiliated in public
  • Green questions why teams need to publicly state status of players on the way out

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is no strange when it comes to speaking his mind.

Rather than talk more about the career-high 16 assists he had in the 129-98 thrashing of the Cleveland Cavaliers, the temperamental player ended up blasting the Cavs on how they were handling the Andre Drummond situation.

The Cavs' move on the 6-foot-10 star didn't sit well with Green. He pointed out how Drummond was initially sitting on the sidelines before going back to the locker room and come out in street clothes, ESPN reported.

“To watch Andre Drummond, before the game, sit on the sidelines, then go to the back, and to come out in street clothes because a team is going to trade him, it's bulls---," Green stated.

Before the whole interview, it was announced that Drummond would be sitting out the rest of the games with the team looking for potential trade partners.

Cleveland has until Mar. 25 to find one. If they don’t find any takers, the next likely move would be a buyout–something most NBA teams who have an interest in the All-Star center are monitoring.

Regardless, Green could care less. He went off on the “double standards” of the league which is likely to draw a stiff fine soon.

"As players, we're told to, 'Ah, no, you can't say that, you can't say this,'" Green said. "But teams can? It goes along the same lines of when everyone wants to say, 'Ah, man, that young guy can't figure it out.' But no one wants to say the organization can't figure it out. At some point, the players must be respected in these situations, and it's ridiculous, and I'm sick of seeing it,” Green continued.

It should be noted that Green’s comments are not limited to Drummond. He has done it before, speaking on other player transactions such as the one involving James Harden, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

His criticism has often resulted in fines. One of them is $50,000 for his comments made during his time as a guest analyst for Turner Sports during the NBA restart in Orlando, Florida, last season.

At that time, he suggested that Devin Booker should leave the Phoenix Suns.
