The Boston Celtics have managed to get their act together, but their frontline still leaves a lot to be desired. Looking ahead, there is a chance that the team may weigh their options and revisit the possibility of snagging Nikola Vucevic.

At first, Orlando Magic didn’t seem to be inclined to let the 28-year-old player go. However, there is also an angle on his future seeing as how Vucevic is headed to free agency, Bleacher Report noted. And each time that comes up, there is no telling if a player would stay or go somewhere else.

It is a given risk, and for now, it seems the Magic will be sticking to the belief that Vucevic will stay on. In the event something changes in the coming days, Boston looms as the frontrunner to try and deal for the Montenegrin professional basketball player seeing as how the Celts did pursue him before.

This was back in January 2017 when the Celtics had reportedly discussed a potential deal with the Magic regarding the 7-footer athlete. The obvious reason here is that the Celtics were looking to shore up their frontline, particularly in the scoring and rebounding department, NBC Sports reported.

Most, of course, know that this never went beyond the talks. But when one looks at the Celtics right now, that concern remains unresolved to this day. The Celtics are 18th in efficiency rating on offense and 17th in rebounding percentage. Vucevic is seen as a potential answer to address those team deficiencies, according to Fadeawayworld.net.

Assuming it would be sweeter the second time around, the Celtics will need to unload somebody. One player that comes to mind is Terry Rozier, someone who has yet to figure out his place on the team.

If not Rozier, it could be one of the guys down low. The Celtics do have Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Gordon Hayward and Aron Baynes at present. Adding Vucevic will make things crowded, so someone may have to take the fall.

The present frontline of the Celtics looks good on paper, but this did not materialize on the court for head coach Brad Stevens. The four players have had their ups and downs, but if the Celtics want to address their frontline deficiencies, a sacrificial lamb may be in that mix.

Team president and general manager Danny Ainge has been known to pull off the inevitable. His decisions in the past have been questioned at first, although results are delivered. It could be the same case at the moment with the Celtics. They do have a good mix right now, but there are definitely possibilities for improvement.
