  • Trae Young trolls fellow All-Star Donovan Mitchell for playing with pro-streamer Ninja
  • The Hawks guard tells the Jazz star that he would only embarrass himself
  • Donovan Mitchell has been in self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus two weeks ago

Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell only had one plan on Wednesday night: play with pro streamer Ninja. However, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young didn’t let him have his moment.

Earlier on Wednesday, Mitchell tweeted his plan with popular Fortnite streamer Ninja to play Call of Duty later in the evening. When Young saw the twee, he wasn’t able to hold himself and poked fun at his fellow All-Star.

In a rather hilarious tweet, Young asked Mitchell: “Bro like, why embarrass yourself???” along with a woozy face and a basketball net emoji.

Perhaps much to the surprise of Young though, Mitchell pushed through his plan with Ninja and streamed their game live on Twitch. It also looked like he played with Jazz teammate Royce O’Neale.

With the NBA on a hiatus, it’s hard to blame players for finding different ways to kill their boredom – even if it means risking their reputation against someone who makes his living playing video games.

To recall, Mitchell is one of the players who tested positive for the coronavirus. He is the second NBA player to test positive for COVID-19, following his Utah running mate Rudy Gobert. The 23-year-old has been recovering in his home since then and has been in isolation – spending most of his time in video games.

Mitchell was also part of Slam’s online Call of Duty Tournament with NBA players, some pros and special guests. They won the event against Ben Simmons and Co., with Meyers Leonard doing the heavy-lifting.

As for Ninja, the pro Mixer streamer has been pretty active recently, especially with video gaming thrown into the spotlight as more and more people lean on the industry as they practice self-isolation.

In a big and heartwarming gesture, Ninja – also known as Tyler Blevins – also stepped up big time to aid in the coronavirus relief efforts. He donated $150,000 to Feeding America in order to help those people experiencing food shortages during this coronavirus crisis.

"To be in the financial situation that my wife and I are in right now is incredible, so one thing we wanted to do was give back as much as we can to a lot of the families that are being affected,” Blevins said as he announced his donation.

With the future of the NBA still uncertain, expect Mitchell and Ninja to collaborate more, play, and entertain their fans. There is nothing much to do, anyway.
