KEY POINTS

  • Pats willing to give Tom Brady more than $30 million for one season
  • Brady has yet to decide on next stop
  • Brady may not get lucrative offer from other NFL teams

Tom Brady remains mum on his plans, although he did say that he will explore the NFL free-agent market. Most feel it would be in the best interest of the 42-year-old to stay in New England, some pointing out how hard it would be to adjust to a new environment.

Though he vows to play until he is 45 years old, pundits have offered some criticism. Most took note of his 2019-20 NFL performance and noted how Brady showed signs of slowing down. Regardless, Pats team owner Robert Kraft could care less. In fact, he wants the four-time Super Bowl MVP back next season. Much of this was discussed in a previous report.

Now, it appears the Patriots are going all out. According to a report from ProFootball Talk, New England is prepared to offer the three-time NFL MVP more than $30 million to return for at least another year. The question now is whether that would be enough?

It is possible that Brady wants to see if other NFL teams would offer him something bigger. Given his age and the fact that most teams are investing in younger players, only a handful of teams may consider him. As to the money on the table, the difference may not be that significant.

Brady recently sent some NFL followers thinking after posting a photo via his Instagram account. It showed a shadow of a player (presumably him) at the stadium entrance. Some were guessing if it was meant him going back in or leaving. But in another IG post, it turns out that it was part of an ad.

For those who viewed the ad on Brady's IG post, it would be wise to note that he mentioned that he was not going anywhere. However, everything was part of the Hulu script. It seemed genius for the ad-makers, aware that Brady had a big decision to make.

Either way, it still does not answer what lies ahead for Brady. Joe Montana, a childhood hero of Brady, already said his piece, advising the six-time Super Bowl champion to stay in New England. That could factor into his decision. Brady officially becomes a free agent on Mar. 18.
