Nick Jonas opened up about fatherhood and how his perspective has changed after welcoming baby girl, Malti Marie via surrogacy.

The 29-year-old singer shared how the "weight of everything is much more intense" after the new member joined his family.

"I think it’s now about trying to be as present as possible and as thoughtful as you can be for your family, but also for other people’s journeys," Jonas told Variety in an interview published over the weekend.

The singer went on to share how grateful he is for welcoming the little bundle of joy and the "wonderful perspective of being a parent."

"As a father, as an uncle, I can’t not think about the kids and all the lives that were lost. I’m hoping for change to happen and we’ll see the end of this," he said referring to the mass shooting happened on May 24 at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

The horrific incident killed 19 kids and two teachers. The singer reflected on this incident via Twitter last week.

"Kids shouldn’t have to worry about gun violence," he tweeted. "They especially shouldn’t have to worry about gun violence at school. Absolutely heartbreaking." He also shared his "thoughts and prayers" to everyone who lost their loved ones in this incident.

Jonas and his wife, actress Priyanka Chopra welcomed their first baby girl in January. The couple revealed that the baby was kept in the neonatal intensive care unit for the first 100 days after birth.

Jonas shared a family photo featuring him, his wife and the little one on Instagram earlier this month.

"We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home, and just want to thank every Doctor, nurse and specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai, Los Angeles, who were there selflessly every step of the way," he captioned the post.

"Our next chapter begins now, and our baby is truly a badass," he added. "Let’s get it M! Mommy and Daddy love you."

Jonas married Chopra in traditional Indian and Christian ceremonies performed over five days in December 2018, in Jodhpur city, northwestern India.

On the work front, the singer will be next seen in a movie "Jersey Boys Live!" while Chopra will be featured in projects like "It’s All Coming Back to Me," "Citadel," "Sheela," "Ending Things," "Jee Le Zaraa" and "Cowboy Ninja Viking."
