"20th anniversary is tomorrow!" she concluded the post.

Baz Luhrmann's directorial was nominated for eight Oscars at the 74th Academy Awards including Best Actress for Kidman and Best Picture in 2002.

The 58-year-old director also shared a photo on Instagram last month and captioned it "early look board, pre-filming."

"Next Sunday will be the 20th anniversary of the opening of Moulin Rouge at the Cannes Film Festival," he said. "I’ve pulled a few things from my bottom drawer to post everyday until then for you guys."

Last week, the director also announced that the stage version of the movie will return to Broadway soon.

"As a final post for the celebration of 20 years since the premiere, how about some storyboards and an announcement...Moulin Rouge is coming back to Broadway!" he wrote.

The musical romantic drama was originally released in 2001. The movie starred Ewan McGregor as Christian, Jim Broadbent as Harold Zidler, and Richard Roxburgh as The Duke of Monroth.

The movie was influenced by various comic and melodramatic musicals including the "Hollywood musical." Interestingly, before McGregor, Leonardo DiCaprio auditioned for Christian's role. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal were also considered for the same role.

Kidman's ongoing projects include "Aquaman 2" and "The Northman." Both the movies are slated to release in 2022.

Besides movies, she will also be seen in the television series "Roar," which is currently under pre-production. The actress also serves as an executive producer in the upcoming mini-series, "Nine Perfect Strangers" apart from acting in it.

Director Luhrmann is filming the highly anticipated biographical musical drama based on Elvis Presley, "Elvis." The movie is slated to release on June 3, 2022. Actor and singer, Austin Butler will portray the key role.
