Nina Dobrev is heading back to television. The former “Vampire Diaries” star is in the cast of “FAM,” a new CBS sitcom, and the network finally announced a premiere date.

“Fam” Season 1 premieres Thursday, Jan. 10 at 9:30 p.m. EST.

Dobrev stars as Clem, a woman envisioning a perfect life with her fiancé (Tone Bell) and his family. However, you can’t choose all your family members. Clem’s 16-year-old half-sister (Odessa Adlon) unexpectedly arrives, and Clem has to balance her life with the wild child and her fiancé’s put-together family. Brian Stokes Mitchell and Sheryl Lee Ralph also star in the half-hour sitcom.

Fans who follow Dobrev on Instagram know that the show has been filming for months. The Canadian actress has shared plenty of Instagram stories from the set, and it seems like she and Adlon have been doing plenty of bonding.

Dobrev left network television in 2015 when she departed The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries.” However, she returned to play Elena Gilbert in the 2017 series finale.

Mostly, however, Dobrev has focused on movies. She has appeared in “xXx: Return of Xander Cage,” “The Final Girls,” “Flatliners” and “Crash Pad,” to name a few. She also appeared in her former “Degrassi” co-star Drake’s video for “I’m Upset.”

There’s still a chance she could return as Elena, though. “Legacies” is the latest “TVD” spinoff, and it’s set in Mystic Falls. There’s a doctor’s office marked Elena Salvatore, M.D. in town.
