There’s now more reason to believe that the rumored Nokia 7 Plus is real. The highly anticipated mid-range offering by HMD Global has recently been spotted at Geekbench’s database.

Based on the benchmarking tool’s entry for the Nokia 7 Plus that was uploaded late last week, the smartphone is running Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor and it comes with 3720 MB or almost 4 GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 660 processor is an upgrade compared to the standard Nokia 7 model that has the Snapdragon 630 SoC. The Nokia 7 Plus’ chipset has eight cores with the base frequency of 1.84 GHz. The processor got a 1636 rating in Geekbench’s Single-Core test and a 5902 rating in the Multi-Core test.

Last year’s Nokia 7 was exclusively made for the China market. However, Phone Arena believes that Finnish company HMD Global, which is now in charge of making the Nokia handsets, is planning to introduce the Nokia 7’s successor in the United States and other international markets this 2018.

Since the improved version of the Nokia 7 is coming to the U.S. market, sources say that HMD may be introducing or removing certain features that would make the handset compliant with the U.S. standards. The phone is reportedly debuting with support for the major carriers in the country.

Aside from the Nokia 7 Plus, another rumored handset from HMD Global that is making headlines is the Nokia 9, a high-end smartphone that’s believed to sport dual back cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device is also rumored to come with very thin bezels and a display that has an 18:9 aspect ratio. If true, the Nokia 9 could have the same front appearance as the flagships from Samsung.

As IBTimes previously reported, Nokia 9 is not the successor to last year’s Nokia 8 that came with dual cameras. It is actually the first handset from HMD’s new line of high-end Nokia Android smartphones. Leaks have revealed that the premium device will come with a 5.5-inch OLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, 128GB of internal memory and a 3,250mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging.

Other smartphones that HMD is launching at Mobile World Congress next month are the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 8 (2018) and the upgraded Nokia 3310 with 4G. It can be noted that HMD attended MWC last year to not only introduce its new handsets, but also relaunch its very successful Nokia 3310 cellphone.
